We Played:

North American Wildlife Memory Game -- My awesome father gave this to us many years ago, and we have gotten a LOT of mileage out of it. I was so disappointed when I couldn't find any more games made by this company. I'd hoped there was one for every continent. :-) (Biology; Visual Memory)

In a former life, I was a professional counselor, working with troubled youth. I am now a freelance writer/editor and online writing coach, teaching middle- and high-school composition. My kids have been learning without school for over 10 years.

Having 2 eclectic learners with vastly different needs and learning styles, it's important to be flexible and choose classes and activities from as many venues as possible. We are fortunate to live in an area with a vibrant homeschooling community -- there are various schools, homeschooling groups, co-ops, and other resources. We are also near the George Washington National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as various locally owned farms, a Shakespeare theater, and plenty of other interesting things.
