She Went:

to several co-op classes: Nature Journaling, The Amazing Body, Tinker Time/STEM. They have made catapults and paper airplanes in STEM. (Art, Biology, Physical Science)

We Played:

10 Days in Asia (Geography, Strategic Thinking)

Ultimate Mastermind (Deductive Logic, Strategic Thinking)

Rummy Roots (English: Vocabulary)

Sequela -- (Math: Computation; Patterns & Algebra)

We Read:

these 2 books, related to our last chapter in Story of the World. (History; Mythology)

Other: She has also been playing soccer. (Physical Education)

Unschooling mom of Movie Buff (age 20), Über-Gamer (16), and Fox Lover (10).

In a former life, I was a professional counselor, working with troubled youth. I am now a freelance writer/editor and online writing coach, teaching middle- and high-school composition. My kids have been learning without school for over 10 years.

Having 2 eclectic learners with vastly different needs and learning styles, it's important to be flexible and choose classes and activities from as many venues as possible. We are fortunate to live in an area with a vibrant homeschooling community -- there are various schools, homeschooling groups, co-ops, and other resources. We are also near the George Washington National Forest and the Blue Ridge Parkway, as well as various locally owned farms, a Shakespeare theater, and plenty of other interesting things.
